There are major developments in the Boston area this morning into Monday’s twin bombings that killed 3 people and left 170 wounded.
One of the two suspects has been shot and killed by police and an intense manhunt is underway for the other. Both are also suspected in last night’s shooting death of a Massachusetts Institute of Technology police officer.
Colonel Timothy Alben of Massachusetts State Police provided an update earlier to explain who they’re looking for in this high profile manhunt. “That’s suspect number two, the white capped individual. Suspect number one was shot and killed. Right now we’re in a public safety mode here. Our immediate concern is for those people in the neighbourhoods. We have an active search going on by tactical teams to locate and apprehend this particular individual. ” Police are conducting a door to door search in Watertown, outside Boston.
Police in the Boston area say they believe the second suspect being sought is a terrorist.
